@dazzasms8a : If you are wanting to cease your mobile contract completely you need to phone EE giving 30 days notice of cancellation of your contract. Otherwise if you intend to move to another network, either taking your existing no. with you or not, get your PAC or STAC respectively from EE & give it to your new provider. If you are still within your min term you will be liable to pay Early Termination Fees for the rest of the term. It will basically be months left x monthly charge - 4%.

Subject:- Request to Modify Contract and Retain SIM Services
Dear EE Team,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing regarding my current contract, which is due for renewal on 5 May 2026. I would like to request the cancellation of my existing contract upon its renewal date. However, I would prefer to continue using my SIM for basic daily usage without being tied to a contract.
Could you please advise me on the best available option to keep my SIM active—such as switching to a pay-as-you-go or basic plan—without entering into a new contract?
I would appreciate your guidance on the process and any steps I need to take to make this transition smooth.
Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Bhargav

@Bhargav2912 : You need to call CS & give 30 days notice to cancel your contract & request that it then be moved to PAYG.

Or request a change to a 30day notice SIM-only plan, that doesn't need any notice period. 30days notice is only needed for cancellation and/or disconnection.
Depends what you understand by being tied to a contract. What you call renewal is really just the end of minimum-term.
This should really be a new post rather than hijacking one.

A 30day notice SIM-only plan does require 30 days notice by definition. Ergo should you not give notice your plan is not cancelled & just continues until you do.

The change of plan to 30day SIM-only doesn't need a notice period, unlike a disconnection request which @XRaySpeX mentioned.
Of course a 30day plan has a 30day notice period.

@ee_user14 : OK, a misunderstanding!
