@Craig1235 You need to request a change of ownership. If she can not be with you when you call customer services to make this request you will be given a code you then need to give that code to her so when she calls customer services she can give that code so she can accept the change of ownership.
You can not just stop paying the bill for her line as this will affect you and your credit score.

To add, what matters is who the current account holder is - the payment method is immaterial. Much also depends how amicable your situation is.
If the phone in question is outside of its minimum term, then the account holder has the option to request disconnection. This can be done within the minimum term, but will incur early termination fees.
If you and your wife are amicable, then you could request a legal change of ownership - whereby the recipient takes over legal responsibility for the phone and becomes the account holder. This evidently needs the consent of both the donor & recipient account holder.
