Hi @Viking1956,
There is no requirement to upgrade! You are able to keep your phone for as long as you'd like. When your contract runs out you will be moved to a 30 day rolling contract automatically.
If you are happy with your device, then you may want to see if you can get a better deal by upgrading to a sim-only plan.
