Feel like I've been cheated 😡

I rang 150 to top up my mobile phone, which I've been doing for the past 10 years and was more than happy with my package, and was talked into getting a contract sim, I was promised it would be £13 not £15 and would get even cheaper in time. I've been on this so called cheaper contract for 16 day's and received my 1st bill today. And it was for £63 😳 so I rang to see what the score was and was told there was a £50 fee for joining, I was fuming. I explained I'll not have £63 when it's time to come out as I've not budgeted for that amount. I was most definitely not told anything about this fee cos if it had of been mentioned I wouldn't of gone along with this so called AMAZING offer. So I said I'll pay the £63 then I'll be moving to an Honest network who's prepared to tell you these things. I've been with EE for over 9 years+ and should never of been silly enough to listen to the patter of a colleague who is obviously on commission and will tell you anything to get you signed up and in debt. I feel cheated and such a fool I should of just stuck to my PAYG . Hey ho we live and learn!!

There is no fee for joining as such. You were misinformed/lied to. The £50 is most likely a refundable security deposit against roaming, to be returned in 3 - 6 months. Tell CS you have no intention of roaming & it should be refunded shortly.

Hi @China73,

Welcome to the Community!

As @XRaySpeX has advised, this is likely a deposit, but if you speak with the team you can log a complaint, and ask for the original call to be listened to, so that we can ensure you're getting exactly what was agreed.
