Extra charges

My last bill had extra charges on. When I downloaded the bill I can see that I have been charged six times for sending one message to radio 2. Can anyone explain why I might have been charged six times for one message?

Hi @HH80

Did you choose the 5 entry option if this was a competition as it seems you have.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

No, it wasn’t a competition. I sent one message to the 88291 number in response to a conversation they were having.

How many characters were in this text message you sent?

One SMS can contain upto 160 characters. Any message you write longer than that, will be broken down by your phone into chunks of 160, sent through the network as multiple 160-chunks and re-built by the recipient phone.

There are 385 so that works out as 3 messages? Still not sure why I was charged six times!
