Hi,
Long time customer with EE, right from the start and previously with Orange. First time I want to upgrade early but find it harsh I ha e to fork out £283.
Are there any offers or loyal customer grace to bypass or have this fee waived?
Other companies offer better deals on early upgrades and don't want to leave EE over it.
Thanks

Assuming you're on a traditional plan rather than FlexPay, you can upgrade fee-free if you're within the last 30days of your minimum-term. There are other options to upgrade earlier if you take a higher-priced plan.

@Beck25 Time spent has nothing to do with it you agreed to a contract term and now want to break that term in order to upgrade before the standard upgrade period this means there will be a cost.

Agreed, but as customers we are loyal but there's zero perks back the other way. I'm quite happy to cut the contract and go elsewhere. Problem nowadays, it's all one way with big companies but luckily there's plenty of choice to go elsewhere.

Thanks for the link. Think it's time to leave EE and use an alternative with better contract offers.

Make sure of other providers' coverage & service in all the areas you'll be using your phone, by testing with a PAYG SIM first.
Despite marketing, there is substantial difference between each network - far better to know any coverage issues before committing for 24months.

@Beck25 Are there any utility companies for being a long-term customer that allow you to terminate a contract free of charge ? If it’s not within the T&Cs that you can do this then unfortunately you obligated to honour the T&Cs of any contract regardless of time spent with any company.

Most utility companies operate on a 12 month contract so if you think, nah don't like this and choose to move on. Normally when you tell them why they tend to match what you're going for.
Insursance companies build up rewards and the one I'm with currently look after me very well given that premiums are sky high.
EE and there's little wiggle room, but hey I'm moving elsewhere. Sorry if I've offended your precious EE Chris_B and I'm fully aware of T&C but the point was, EE don't look after loyal customers.
