Hi,
I have an iPhone contract on my dad’s EE account. It is coming to an end on the 11th October which is when I want to change to sim only. I want to change to sim only and buy the plan on my own personal EE account (as I have EE broadband and can get it cheaper). How can I do this? I want to keep my EE number but just purchase the sim only myself rather than getting it through my dads account

@Sammyfreear : The current owner of the contract wishing to be moved, your dad, needs to call CS with both of you available on the line to effect a change of ownership. The other person, you, will need to pass a credit check. They will then be paying for that contract. If you can't do it together CS will give the current owner a password for the other to quote when they call.

My current EE phone contract is under my dad’s account which is ending this month. I rang up last month and was advised to take out a sim only on my own account as I got the EE one discount, and then request my old contract (on my dads account) to go pay as you go so I can keep my EE number.
my old contract doesn’t end until 17th October at which point it will go pay as you go. I already have the sim only plan set up. Can I request the code to transfer my current ee number to my new sim only before the old contract goes to pay as you go?

The "code" you're thinking of is presumably a PAC. This stands for Porting Authority Code and is used for transferring mobile numbers between networks, not within the same one.
Are you saying that, you have number 1 (which you want to retain) on pay-monthly and currently serving 30days notice to migrate to PAYG, but under your Dad's name... you separately have a new pay-monthly plan using number 2... and that you want to have number 1 using plan-2, in your name?

Yes. My contract is on notice already and transfers to PAYG on the 17th October. I already have the SIM only account in my name set up which has a new number but I want to keep my current number and transfer it to my new SIM only account.
I presume I might have to wait until the 17th when it goes to PAYG

Or would it be easier to transfer ownership of my current contract to my account now and then I only have to deal with all on my own personal account. Is this possible to transfer now if my contact ends soon and is then going to PAYG?

Hi there @Sammyfreear
Thanks for coming to the community.
We're unable to transfer a number from an existing EE Pay monthly contract to another EE Pay monthly contract.
To request the number be transferred from a pay as you go account, you would need to give us a call and the team will let you know the next steps.
Thanks.
Leanne.

Hi @Sammyfreear
It is usually easier to transfer the line into your own name, then upgrade it to a SIM only once it has reached it's minimum term.
However, as you already have your new SIM only, you can wait for your existing number to transfer to Pay as you go, then request the number to be transferred onto the new line. Customer Service will need to speak to the original account holder for permission to move the number from his name onto a line that is in your name.
