If I want to upgrade without flexpay and have a new family and friends discount code to apply how do I get it applied?

If you are eligible for Flexpay, I believe this is the only type of plan you can use F&F discount with.

If you chose to go for a 24-month bundled Subsidy agreement instead of Flex Pay you would not be able to apply F&F discount.

@Matt_124  I thought you could have a standard contract but the F&F rate is different.  I think it’s something like 30% not 50%.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

That was also my understanding however I'm not sure how the discount can be applied as it can no longer be done in store and can't be done online as the only option is flex play

@Singh94  To have a standard tariff you need to call customer support to request this.  Online tariffs are flex pay only.   You can add a F&F discount up to 6 months after you got the contract just by calling customer support.  You should also be able to give customer support the F&F code when you take out the contract via phone.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Brilliant thank you

Just to add to the above I'm sure I seen it mentioned previously that cs can no longer apply the discounts but instead there is an internal friends & family webform that can be completed instead

@Chris_B

As far as I have been told at the point that the change went in (well over a year ago), F&F discount on Subsidy contracts was to only be a fallback for those that don't qualify for Flex Pay.

The rates are as you've said (50% on Flex Airtime, or 30% on Subsidy), but essentially if you can get Flex Pay (you qualify for it based on account factors and subsequent financial circumstances questions) then you can't just decide to go for Subsidy over Flex Pay because you think the discount is better.

This very well could have been rolled back since, but my understanding was that this was to be the rule going forwards.

I believe @garybs29 may also be correct in their assessment around the method of retrospectively applying the code after the Point of Sale. As with any process, there may be points of discretion by individuals that fall outside of what should be a 'hard and fast' rule.
