Changes in prices depending on phone and trade in options

Currently looking at replacing my handset with a new one.  Been with EE forever, and currently SIM only as paid off handset part.

Looking at the new Google Range of 10 phones and it seems like the contract costs are a random set of numbers that have no meaning.  The same air time bundle across the 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL differs by £11.  Now you would expect the 10 Pro XL would be the most expensive, but no it is the 10 Pro with the XL being the cheapest.  Now that looks like it is a deal on those as the start price is the same.  But that to me seems very strange that the same item for calls etc is different per phone.

Then you can add on a trade in to supposedly lower the cost.  Well it doesn't when looking at the Pixel 10, the cost of the air time part actually goes up and I can't see where any saving is made, the others do become cheaper.

This doesn't seem like clear pricing options to me, and I am not even sure what is the best option \ combination to do if adding a trade in then increases prices.

Anyone else noticed this before and why it is happening.

Thanks

I suspect trade in will not be allowed on the already discounted airtime plans which will be the difference

But that doesn't explain why the cost goes up when you add a trade in to the Pixel 10.  Unless the discount is more in the first instance than it is with the trade in, but then why not make that obvious when adding the trade in on to the contract.

Good afternoon @u9537503.

Welcome to the EE Community!

When checking out the options available here, it does look like the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro XL have special offers available at the moment, and this means a reduction in the airtime plan costs.

Costs can vary depending on the type of plan you're going for too, with a range of options and features available.

Normally discounted plans aren't eligible for a further trade-in discount, so in some examples the promotional discount will actually be less than is available with trade-in.
