Cancelling

How can I get confirmation that my contract is cancelled?

My phone is inactive (can’t text/receive calls) but it says my next bill is in November

@MatMaddox   Did you give 30 days notice to terminate the contract?   If you did and it’s past 30 days then it’s been terminated.  Your account might say your bill is in November but have you been billed anything?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I was out of my 24 month contract.

My account says I asked for a PAC (which it says expires soon), I also asked for a STAC (but at the time of asking the text kept saying it couldn’t be delivered) and my phone was disconnected immediately and still is.

Also not been billed anything yet as that is not due until 12th Nov

Have you used that PAC?

A PAC only cancels your existing contract when it's given to a new provider. If just requested but not used, there is no change to your account. Same goes for a STAC.

If you've not used a PAC or STAC, and haven't explicitly given 30days notice, then you shouldn't have been disconnected. You also can't have a PAC and 30days disconnection notice at the same time - the two are mutually exclusive.

You are out of the 24 month min. term but not out of the contract if you haven't actually cancelled it.

These mobile contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the same price on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly cancel, upgrade or port your no. away.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks for all your help. The problem I have is that I now can’t use the PAC as when I type the number into the 3 website (new provider) it says that the old number is not valid (presumably as it has been turned off).

I also can’t text EE as the number has been disconnected (so it seems).

I’m just going to cancel the direct debit and see why happens!

Cancelling your regular payments without cancelling the contract will just create other problems that could eventually impact your credit file.

If you're unable to submit your PAC to a new provider, you should contact them and get those issues resolved.

I think your assumptions about the EE line being disconnected could be misplaced.
