My mum is getting her internet by EE in the form of a sim with a 5g router. We got this deal from Plus Net although it is billed via EE and I pay it each month (I pay for my own at the same time). It was a 2 year deal.
My sister has now upgraded mum to a digital EE home line to get her broadband . This is a fibre deal as it has to be fitted by an openreach engineer.
Can i now cancel the other sim? As it has been superceeded by the new contract?
Thanks
Phil

@dartmoorcf : If you are wanting to cease your mobile BB contract completely you need to phone EE giving 30 days notice of cancellation of your contract. If you are still within your min term you will be liable to pay Early Termination Fees for the rest of the term. They will basically be months left x monthly charge - 4%.

These exist as entirely separate products and contracts unfortunately, there is no case in which an EE Mobile deal would be superseded by a fixed line product.
There will be a contract in place on the 5G Router with a minimum term. The best way to find out about whether there are any relevant early termination charges etc, is to give EE Customer Services a call.
They will need the account holder present on the line to pass security checks and they should be able to give you the information you require.

Thanks
Unfortunately my estranged sister arranged this new deal with EE in the form of a digital home line. Openreach are installing on the 16th. (Although we tried this with plusnet and Openreach couldn't install due to Mum's residence having a funny internal alarm system). She has told me to cancel the existing sim but i'm now going to get hit for a whopping charge as i only got the sim alternative from plusnet in June. I was hoping that if EE see a new deal in the form of this digital phone line they might show some compassion to the other sim now not being needed.
There's a chance that EE won't be able to get Openreach to install this new thing anyway i guess.

As @Matt_124 pointed out these are 2 separate products & contracts. 1 doesn't supersede t'other. If you don't want the mobile BB then you need to cancel it, or you can just go on paying for it until it reaches its min. term w/out making use of it (or use it as fallback in case fixed BB falls over).
PN wouldn't have been able to provide fixed Home BB with a digital landline anyway as they stopped doing landlines even in June I'm pretty sure.

Thanks guys.
I spoke to customer services and they pretty much confirmed what you've said. It is my sister meddling that has caused the issue.
I get my phone from Vodafone and my contract runs out in December so I'm going to cancel the renewal and use the extra sim as mine instead. Hopefully i can port my existing number from vf to EE.
I think that is the best solution rather than paying a £393 cancellation charge.
There is no guarantee that openreach will be able to install the new thing anyway. They've already had 3 goes with plusnet. But that won't be my problem anymore.
Cheers
