Cancellation of old contract

Dear EE!

Today, I pre-paid an Internet subscription from December 12. According to the information on the website of my current service provider, it is not necessary for me to cancel the contract (Sky), as the new service provider will handle the termination of the existing contract with the previous company when the contract comes into force.

Please let me know if this is indeed the case so that I know if I need to take any further action.

Regards, Reka

@Réka : That is true for:

  • Broadband when using the One Touch Switch (OTS) process.
  • Mobile when using a PAC or STAC.

Which is it?

HI @Réka

One Touch Switch is a new process brought in by the regulator for UK telecoms and broadband providers. It makes it easier to switch your broadband provider. You won't have to let your current provider know you're leaving them- we’ll let them know you’re leaving, so you don’t have to.

You can find out more at Switching to EE Broadband just got easier.

It's quick, easy and hassle free. As part of your order just tell us who you want to switch from, we can then match your account and let your provider know you'd like to switch to us.

They'll contact you using the details they have for you about any services and benefits you may lose. We'll make arrangements to end your service with your current provider. Your existing service will still be available until the day ours goes live.

We look forward to you joining us!

@Réka Sky takes care off it all if you gave them all the correct details, e-mail from sky to confirm you have a success, and an e-mail from EE making them aware you are going to them as your new BB ISP! NO contact is required to EE/Sky at all if you and sky are doing it right! If you look on your sky account, there may be a My Message sitting there also to acknowledge the fact!

@JimM11 : Is not moving from EE to Sky but from Sky to another provider, unstated but assumed EE.

@XRaySpeX Correct made the assumption that EE was going to be it from the opening in the post, but anyway the sky account should still show the goodbye message with the plead your welcome to stay etc!!!
