When signing up to your 24-month mobile contract recently, the deciding factors were the price of the plan itself, as well as the price of the addons advertised as benefitting EE users. Your recent Roaming Pass price announcement, increasing the price from £15 to £25 per month from October is not only not in line with the Consumer Price Index, but is also a price increase outside of your annual price increase in March.
As such, please confirm EE customers can cancel their contracts without incurring penalties.

No dispute around removing the addon. The question is how many EE customers entered into a 24-month contract based on the advertised 'affordable' addons? I chose EE because of the Roaming Pass addon, and now I have 22-months left of my contract and will no longer be using this addon as it is unaffordable. Vague justification for the price increase and no other provider felt the need to increase their roaming prices.
EE has become the Ryanair of mobile providers....the base contract price is great...but the extras keep getting more and more expensive.

@Redmi I would add “no other network yet has increased roaming costs”. Someone ( EE ) has to be first, it’s still wrong though how ever EE try to justify this.

I'm in the exact same boat ! I have to have a roam pass, for my job I'm in the USA pretty much every week and need to able to use my data - this was a deciding factor when entering into my contract. It was £10, then £15 but now £25!? My monthly phone bill with be £65 a month, I don't even have a nice new iphone - I'm cannot justify paying this yet I can't take my roaming pass off otherwise I'm stranded when I'm at work. I'm so annoyed but I fear we have 0 rights to fight it 😪😪

@KateOrf Call customer services and ask if you can change tariffs to include a smart benefit. With this you can add the roaming pass. Your bill will be more than it is now but it’ll be less than what this is going up to.
Do not say you want an upgrade or even mention the word upgrade. If the agent says anything about an upgrade just say I want a change of tariff to include a smart benefit. You’ll probably be looking around £10 more than what you’re paying now for your current tariff.

I’m outraged by it, not only has the month plan increased data roaming has gone up by £10 a month, that’s a huge increase of 40%. Im a lorry driver and I’m based in Dorset and travel to Europe weekly so it’s an essential part of my plan. I’ve been with EE 16 years. Loyal customs don’t get looked after and I’m sick of it. I’m going sim only from November and changing providers. Rather spend my money with company’s that care about the ones that pay them.

It's madness! It's almost an entire second contract I'm paying for on my end! My contract is only £30 a month. I'm not doubling it. I use it constantly, I work on ships and I'm travelling America, Australia, New Zealand and Canada constantly, but I'd rather buy a local sim or an e sim because that would be less expensive.

O2 never even reintroduced roaming charges let alone increased them.

@Joel54 No but they had a large yearly price increase.
Your best bet is to get a tariff with a smart benefit you can then have the roaming pass at no charge. You’ll just pay slightly more for the tariff.

Thought it was a joke, just got a message telling me the roaming pass which was 10 quid last year and they raised to 15 quid is as of the 18th October going up to £25 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Are ee sniffing glue ?
I can get a monthly sim contract only for 12 per month 100gig free eu roaming unlimited calls and text.
Or carry on paying ee now 25 pm extra on top of my bill when I go away.
Looks like I will be leaving ee, way to go ripping people off.

@jffdcccffrewwjh Tariffs with smart benefits can have the roam abroad pass as a smart benefit
