Can I transfer number from a sim to a new sim?

I recently moved to the UK and bought an EE sim card at the airport. 

I liked the service so I think I might change the sim to a 12-month contract-based sim deal. 

Can I transfer the number I already have to a new sim or a new monthly basis deal?

Yes you can change an EE PAYG Sim over to Pay Monthly and keep the Number, might be worth calling CS or Upgrades on 150  or 0800 956 6000 as they sometimes have under the Table Incentive Deals to upgrade from PAYG to Monthly.
