portability of my landline number switching from Plusnet to EE

Hi, I switched from Plusnet to EE online on 22 August.
Landline number porting was requested and confirmed.

There's a gap between my Plusnet contract ending (26 Aug) and my EE engineer appointment (1 Sep). Could someone confirm:

  1. The porting request proceeds automatically despite this gap
  2. The number stays protected for porting throughout this period
  3. Whether any manual action is needed on my end

This number has been in continuous use for over 30 years and is linked to several important services, so I'd really appreciate clarity on this. Thank you.

@taniabianchi There should be zero gap, the PN stay's up and working until EE switches you over to there side.....

The number transfers over to EE BUT you will no doubt be going to a DV Digital Voice connection on the EE Hub, so the landline will plug into the back off the new EE Hub you will get, the service may or may not take 24-48hrs to swap over correctly and start to work as expected, incoming and outgoing plus all the other connection services take time to change and route correctly.....

If after that two day period you find not operating as expected it is a call to EE CS to find out what is going on with your landline phone.... Should be zero for you to do, PN have transferred you to there sister company EE....

Your contract with PN should not end on the date you have said, just an extra few days to pay PN so not a full month refund back from them, would NOT expect the line to be cut off for either BB/Landline operation at all.

If you need this ALL confirmed by EE then the Forum posting you have done does not work, you HAVE to call EE CS direct and talk to one off the guides, no other way to do it.....

Why should your PN contract end on 22 Aug? Why, did you cancel it? These BB contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly migrate, cancel or upgrade. Don't worry, your switch will proceed as normal & will auto cancel your PN contract when completed.
