I was out of my EE Fibre+ contract so changed to 'New EE' for a better deal, keeping the same BB properties, line rental and PAYG call charges (we use our mobiles to phone out but elderly mother likes landline to call us on). I use my own router Asus DSL AX82U AX5400 which is excellent, so I'm not going to use their new Smart Hub and digital phone adapter they have sent me. I'm not interested in having digital home phones, my old ones are fine. The BT box on my wall has one outlet for BB and one for telephony. Wanted to check that my old house phones will still work after the switch-over date. Thanks.

No, & they won't work now unless you use the SH+ & plug your phones into its phone socket or adapter.

Oh dear, that's not what the agent I spoke to earlier told me. He said everything would be the same and I didn't need to use their new router I could even send it straight back in the jiffy bag provided. I particularly asked about the landline staying in use with current phones. Maybe we'll just give up the landline like many others of our friends have done. I shall wait until switch-over day to see what happens.

Let me just check it out.
Are you on the new BB now?
Where do you plug the router into?
If you plug your existing phone into the phone socket of the BT socket on the wall do you get a dialltone?

Not yet, starts on 20th
Router is plugged into BB socket of main BT box on the wall. You helped me with my question about that in the past and it is a great router and the Asus App useful. I want to keep using it.
Existing phones plugged into phone socket of the BT wall box. It feeds extensions to 2 fixed phones and 1 cordless.
Yes we still have dial tone.

Test it again when your new BB becomes live.

No not working so have given up the land line. We don't get many calls and still get junk calls despite TPS registration. Have no need to make 2 calls at once or 3 way calling with digital. I was disappointed because the agent I spoke to in the first place told me everything would still work with my existing router, but I am at fault as the email confirmation they sent said digital home phone coming but I didn't understand then what it was. Today they said now my landline is switched it cannot be switched back because this is the future. They said it could take 3 months to cancel the service and gave me £15 credit. So for three months any callers will go to a voicemail that will never be heard.

Yes, you won't get a digital landline unless you use the EE SH+.
