i cancelled my account which i was told would be for free and switched over to BT (through EE because they're owned by the same company now) and now ive been charged £132 and have received threatening mail, but I’m not able to access my bill to dispute or even see what its about because my account no longer exists..

How did you cancel? Did you cancel it before your min. term was up or after the statutory 14-day cooling-off period if you had 1?

yeah i got contacted by them saying that it was cancelled too. and yes the min period was up BT made sure before i switched over since i was switching to a zero income plan and was v clear i couldn’t afford any kind of extra bills. BT also gave me (much less egregious) extra billing that i had to dispute and which were cancelled after contacting them so I’m hoping this will be the same but honestly cant think of a single reason for this bill to be so high when i only switched over a month ago? it couldn't even have been some ‘bill racking up over time’ thing

@onyxharri As no one has account access on this public forum, there could be one of many reason's for getting the EE bill, if it does not explain in the contact document that you received is there a contact number to call and discuss with them. Copy of the link to EE CS and would think you have to call them to find out what/why.

Who is this threatening mail from?
Something doesn't make sense here. If you cancelled your EE BB you would have nowt to transfer to BT & you would have to start afresh with a new BB application to BT. What you should do is not cancel your EE BB, order BB from BT & they would take care of everything incl. the switch of your BB from EE to BT & the cancellation of your EE BB contract. Did you have a period of no BB at all at your home?

basically i called EE ab a no income contract and they said they provide that service through their BT side and to call BT. i called BT who cancelled my EE contract for me (received a confirmation message from EE that it was indeed cancelled) and set up with BT. on the phone i was told there should be no set up or cancellation fees but now- obviously- theres been some kind of cancellation or other strange fee? But when calling/checking anywhere i can (excluding the explicit messages ive received from EE) another layer of confusion ive found is it also says on multiple places i have no bill. Eg. i called their automated service and it said ‘you dont owe us any money, your next bill is due on the ### of September’ baffling tbh.. im also having no luck contacting them several days in a row by phone ://

@onionpie @onyxharri This still does not make any sense, you say YOU cancelled the account, then YOU say BT cancelled the account, you say you called, then you did call but cannot get through, if EE are looking for £132, and are threatening you, are you taking this serious or not, what timescale are you talking about from opening to closing all of this! Did you get New equipment from BOTH EE and BT, not returned something?

Haha are you an undercover EE operative 😭😭 i managed to get through to a calls person who wasnt a bot and they are going to credit my account to cancel the bill, but i never actually found out what it was for 😭
