authentication problem

I have recently moved address and brought my home broadband router and contract with me. Since then, my mobile is having issues with connecting to broadband at home. It can sometimes (generally automatically), but if connection is dropped, it's impossible to reconnect as it keeps giving authentication error message. Phone has no problem with work wifi.

3 other devices at home are not having issues, and are always connected.

I have tried the following solutions:

-switch phone on/off; switch on airplane mode, switch wifi on/off, forget network, retype password (correct).

Please any suggestions, this is a real pain. Thanks so much!!

I seem to have solved this by switching off bluetooth.

Morning @smigol

Thanks for coming here 🙂

Which model phone are you using?

Have you tried restarting the router when you get this message and trying to reconnect?

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

Hi @Leanne_T

thanks for your reply 🙂

I have indeed restarted the router and this is did not help unfortunately.

My phone is a Sony, model number G3311.

I enabled developer on my phone and under the my wifi of choice is the following text:

"network selection disabled, association rejection=1, network selection disabled authentication failure =1".

Any further advice?

thanks so much

Thanks @smigol

Have you tried factory resetting the phone?

You would need to back up your data before resetting 🙂

Leanne.

You have taken all the correct steps. It indicates that the issue is with that particular mobile phone & not the BB.

When you say the WiFi pwd you supply is correct are you being careful with alpha case & digits, e.g. zero vs. oh, upper eye vs. el, ... ?

Unfortunately yes, that would be a nice easy solution. Pwd is 3 words no signs or numbers so pretty straightforward.

any other ways to resolve this?
