Just had a new fibre hub. Laptop on windows 7 no problem, Chromebook no problem, phone no problem. But my everyday laptop on windows 8.1 cannot find the new hub! Been trying for nearly 3 weeks now. Rang EE and they sent a new hub but still same problem. Can't scan QR code to do it that way either.

@Tatz99 What EE Router? Is it both Ethernet and Wi-Fi if the laptop does both? What is the make of the laptop? Have you tried to do any of the settings in the hub manager?

It's an Advent T100. I don't have an ethernet cable so can't connect that way. Other networks are showing up, just not mine. Tried advanced settings on hub manager that EE suggested, didn't work.

@Tatz99 Looking roughly online not much info on it, but apart from the age, would expect the following so not sure what EE advised as you do not say. In the advanced, wireless settings, make sure wpa2 - personal, set wifi to 5 compatible mode, and turn off 5ghz wifi while trying to connect, save settings as you go along in the manager page. Try and see how it goes. If it connects remember to turn the 5ghz back on when finished. HTH

Which EE router do you have?
That's an old PC & probably has a lesser WiFi then the router.
If the router is a SH+ I think you'll find the router is set to WiFi-6 and/or WPA3 by default. Your device mayn't cope with that. Change the router settings down to WiFi-5 and WPA2.

How do I turn the 5ghz off? Done the others. It is a SH +. The laptop on windows 7 is older than this one and it connected straight away.

@Tatz99 Login to router and go to Advanced settings, wireless, and there is an on/off toggle switch.

Ok so I've done that but still nothing.

@Tatz99 Can you post a screen capture of PC were it shows network connection fail.
