Hello,
Wanting to move from BT to EE. Only being offered 2 packages (Full Fibre 150 or 300) charged at £57.99pm and rising to £60.99 on March 31st!
My first thought was "these speeds must be all I can get in my area at the moment". But no...
Made enquires with PlusNet, Sky & Vodafone. All offer 150, 300, 500, 900 and even Sky offering a 1.6Gbps package. Prices from these ISP's ranging from £20 - £70pm
I'm out of contract with BT at the moment so I'm free to go where i like.
I'd just like to know why EE does not offer me packages over Full Fibre 300. Currently on Fibre Halo 3+ with BT.
Thank you in advance for any replies.
Regards

I think it is based on your being on a Halo 3+ plan currently.
The EE and BT Broadband systems generally don't like customers moving off Halo type packages as the customer will lose those benefits (features like Complete Wifi, Hybrid Connect, Cyber Security etc) by moving to an Essentials plan, typically meaning they don't get shown as upgrade options.
The equivalent of Halo 3+ is the Full Works plan, hence that is what is being shown.
This was something that they were looking to address, as when out of contract you should have the choice to downgrade from the Halo equivalents to an Essentials plan if you wanted to.
I would give BT a call, as they can handle the migration over the phone and may be able to see some options to get you a better renewal price.
Just ensure that if you currently have EE Mobile - make them aware of this and insist that they link your accounts correctly at point of sale by temporarily linking your BT to your EE Account to ensure they are placing the order on your Existing EE ID and NOT setting up a new one with a mismatched email address.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

Yes, you may only get up to 330 Meg Full Fibre (WBC FTTP).there from Openreach (OR) who provide the BB infrastructure to EE. It's probable that Sky & Voda get their BB from somebody else like CityFibre whose infrastructure will be faster there, but not PN who also use OR.

Ah ok, makes sense.
Just one other question, i know it's been covered before but, if i move over to EE, will i still have full access to my btinternet.com email address? Through clients like Outlook. Or will access only be through webmail?
Or will they say i have to subscribe to their premium email service to retain it?
Thank you again in advance for you reply.

I'm sorry to go on... The monthly price still bugs me though! Plans for these speeds from other providers is nearly half of what i'd be paying!!! I was thinking of opting for the new hub and WiFi7 at £10 extra so i'd be paying nearly £70pm for a 150mbps speed guarantee!! Am I missing something?

CityFibre isn't available in my area at present. That's why i was confused when Vodafone said i could get 900 & 1.6gbps packages and EE didn't.
I'd want to keep my landline if i moved, maybe the quoted price includes keeping the phone line too? That maybe would explain the higher price?
Do EE provide a live chat service? Might be worth chatting to CS??
