Hi,
I’ve switched from SKY to EE broadband as it meant I was able to reduce my mobile bill from £39 to £19, which is great.
I have a year left on my SKY Broadband, and EE have said they’d cover the leaving fee up to £300. I am a bit confused as to whether it is only applied as credit to my EE account, or if I can use it to cover the SKY leaving fee. Can’t seem to be able to find out the answer. I’m looking at £250+ and can’t afford that in one go!
TIA

@Beckirabbit : As it's been credited to your EE a/c you'll need to call CS to request it be refunded to your normal means of payment.

@Beckirabbit It has to appear in the account, it's a cheques and balances situation, and when you said to your bank account, then normal is 5-7 working day's payment will pop into your account from EE, then next billing cycle it will disappear from view again.

Not sure what you mean 'cheques and balances situation' but when it disappears like you've said...will it automatically go into my bank account? So I don't have to call them and ask for them to do it? Seems a long winded way of doing it and don't really understand why they didn't just pay me it back. They made it so hard to get it in the first place that I wish I'd stayed with virgin tbh...

@Beckirabbit You already said this before "The girl from EE asked me do I want it as credit or into my bank and I told her straight to my bank..." if it's not true, you don't remember etc etc, it's never going to be easy for anyone to do, that is why it's a process, makes sure everyone does what is required, if you look at it from the EE end they are the final part, if they give out the money and all the previous parts have not been done, complied with then there is no recourse for them, that's one of the reasons that they ask hoping you just say credit my account, you would not pay any bill's for say 6 months as your credit winds is way down zero.
"will it automatically go into my bank account? So I don't have to call them and ask for them to do it?" if you did as above then no you do not need to call, if you are not sure then you can call again, they will tell you yes its processed, your payment would be back to you by X amount of days later.

As the refund has appeared in your EE a/c & not in your bank as requested, you can have no confidence in what the EE girl promised. Therefore you can only be sure of getting it in your hands is by calling CS to request it be refunded to your normal means of payment.
I think @JimM11 is saying to trust EE's "checks & balances" procedures & it will all happen automatically. I couldn't agree with that less.

@XRaySpeX Jim's not saying that, it has to appear on the billing as a complete paper trail, applied - paid, and will always show on the bill no matter what. Next cycle if paid then back to normal...

I feel like this is such a scam, EE and Sky must be in cahoots, because it's been impossible to get this money back. Sky will not release the bill exactly as it's required, and EE keep referring back to the specific terms of the contract which are unreasonable considering all the evidence I've provided. Someone's benefiting here and it's not the consumer.

@Msaunds Once you cancel with Sky, they will issue you a final bill with the remainder charges.
