Switch from BB to EE

I am looking to switch my BB & TV Package from BT to EE. 

I priced up on EE website @ £78.99 for the package I wanted. When I phoned EE to change they said I needed to speak to BT who would handle the switch. I spoke to them giving the details I had priced on EE website , they came up with a price of £ 40 more.

this can’t be right !

The problem is it totally depends on whether you are in contract or not, also sounds like the agent you spoke to is trying to make more commission by raising the price.
