Stupid parental lock/safe search

Have to say, coming from Virgin, that EE has been really depressing so far. First they lied about my switch on date over the phone and now I have a mini hub to tide me over and I cannot get it to switch off safe search. I called and one person said they never heard of this issue (!). A second said I could only have uncensored Internet when I am up and running (and they delayed this by ten days) but I need to sign into my admin or something daft. And then I went to an EE shop to be told they didn't know.

So basically EE is a mess and wants to treat Internet users as children.

Can anyone assist?

Should I switch to Sky and cancel EE? Anyone advise? I've been told today by one customer care assistant that doing this would be fine then I was told by another that I can't unlock anything until my turn on date lmao. And then in the EE shop I was told "we don't know" and now on this forum just advice that doesn't seem to address this mess? I'm so angry at EE.

@L00MER The forum is not customer support, fix all the problems, we are all just users like yourself trying to help, we don't all have the same equipment, and you alone are in the odd ball situation, with failed install, hybrid sent to help out not successfully. Not the forums fault that you cannot turn it off, even if it can be turned of.

Hey cheers buddy, I'm kind of just seeking that rather than answers which I have been on the phone about. Thanks for your reply. I didn't know this isn't EE employees btw. Appreciate your time.

But just to add "it can be turned off" - EE said it can then said it can't. So which is it?

Good morning @L00MER.

Welcome to the EE Community, and thanks for taking the time to reach out to us about this as well.

Am I correct in thinking that it's still the Mini Hub you're using right now whilst you wait for the line to be activated?

These are managed through our mobile account system, so the parental controls are totally separate to what you'll find once your fixed line is live.

Also do you have any other mobile products with us?

Peter

Hey pal, yes I have my phone with EE.

So the mini hub *cannot* be changed to anything but child-friendly? However you are telling me this will be different after I get my proper set working?

Thanks for confirming that @L00MER.

If you can see the Mini Hub alongside your other mobile products, then you should be able to amend the parental control settings using the method @XRaySpeX shared.

This is a bit of a tough one though, as if it's not directly added to your account and just being used on loan, I can't say 100% myself where the account for this, and therefore the ability to change the settings, will be held.

If anyone can help locate this though, it will be our customer care team.

Once your main connection is up and running, you'll be able to manage the parental controls via the EE app, but my understanding was that these are usually disabled by default.

It contain a SIM which has a mobile no. Link that mobile no. to your EE a/c. In your online MyEE: Home > Plans & Subs > Manage numbers > Add another number > Link EE mobile or SIM.

Thanks for the help but on my Android Samsung phone there are none of these options. I searched for Plans and Subs and got that but there is no option for 'manage numbers'.
