Solis Inverter Datalogger

I've just moved over to EE from BT and I now can't connect to my Solis solar panel inverter & Ginlong data logger. All was working ok under the BT set up - seems like too much of a coincidence that it won't connect on same day as new EE hub etc installed. Any one had similar problems or can offer advice

@killie97  How does it connect to the new router?  WiFi or Ethernet cable ?     Is your router actually working ok for the internet?  Wi-Fi/Ethernet ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Connection is via WiFi and everything else working OK. Leads me to think that the datalogger is faulty as inverter running fine as well

Just wondering if anyone found a solution. I'm unable to connect the Inverter or my central heating controller to the new router. Originally I thought the problem related to the router being 5ghz but it is now set up for both 5 and 2.4ghz. Both devices are visible when I search for a wifi connection but when selected they cannot connect to internet.

I'm not familiar with these devices but is i the case that they can connect to the EE hub but then grumble that they have no Internet connectivity/you can't log in remotely etc?

Anyone got the specific model of the inverter/data logger in question?

You have to select the device from the wifi options available on your smartphone and by doing this it can connect to your wifi. I'm not sure of the technical aspects of this but that's what happens. I've had this message from Drayton that explains the problem.

"Are both the 2.4GHz network and 5GHz network using the same SSID? If so, please separate them so that their channel names are different (e.g. by putting a 5 at the end of the 5GHz network). The Wiser Hub will successfully connect to the 2.4ghz frequency.
This may not be an option on some routers, if that is the case please check for "compatibility mode".

What channel is the 2.4GHz network running on? If it is on auto, please change this to a manually selected network between 1-11 - preferably 1, 6 or 11.
Selecting the proper Wi-Fi channel can significantly improve your Wi-Fi coverage and performance. In the 2.4 GHz band, 1, 6, and 11 are the only non-overlapping channels
Adjacent-Channel interference occurs when devices from overlapping channels are trying to talk over each other. Channels that have interference from other devices are considered to be 'crowded'. The time it takes to transmit data is increased and you are left waiting for your Internet request to be made."

Unfortunately this has now worked for me as they cannot give my 5 and 2.4 a different ssid. Waiting for EE to get back to me as their tech support had not seen this issue before. I suspect an older router will be needed

@ZiggyStarlight : Which EE router do you have?

With the EE Smart Hub Plus, unlike the original EE Smart Hub, you cannot separate the wireless bands/SSIDs. Try on the Advanced > Wireless Settings page to temporarily disable the 5 GHz WiFi band & move off the Smart channel while connecting problematic 2.4 GHz devices.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.
