Can anybody help me? I've recently purchased a Yale Home alarm system, when I came to install it I fell at the first hurdle, (connect the alarm hub to the router via the ethernet cable provided, switch on and wait 30s for the green light), NO GREEN LIGHT. I contacted Yale they said you need DNS ports 5222 and 8765 open on your router, I called EE CS they said its nothing we can help you with, the router is set up for plug n play, I went back to Yale they said, maybe a fault with the alarm hub, take it back to Costco where I purchased it from. After more research I tried EE CS one more time (they were really helpful) and they suggested trying the Yale hub on a friends router, I want next door and plugged the Yale hub into there Virgin router, within 10sec a green light came on. I went back to EE CS, explained all this again and was told maybe it my EE router. So new router posted out to me with great expectations, swapped it over and you've guessed it same as before. I've been back to Yale they asked me to go back to EE and ask for a firmware update for the router, back to EE they told me to switch the router off for 4 hours, I've done that, its now back on with no joy and I'm now no further forward. Please Help. One more thing, these alarm systems are also sold in the EE online shop and don't seem to be compatible with the EE router.

its a Yale Smart living. the only thing on the back of the hub is; IA smart hub. just out of interest EE sell these on there website (I got mine from Costco but its the same thing). The engineer who came out said he's having nothing but trouble with the EE Smart hub +

@Ru55w Yale have upgraded the hardware since I got mine and EE didn’t/don’t sell the one I’ve got.
See where I’m going with this there is more than one version of the Yale smart hub.
Mine is the top image and it’s old so if I get mine to connect……..

@Ru55w so I’ve just had to move loads of stuff out of a cupboard to dig this out and I’ve literally plugged in my Yale smart hub to my EE smart hub plus. Just to point out this has never been connected to this EE router until now ( and I believe the EE router before that )
This Yale hub was factory reset and removed from my Yale account when i stopped using the Yale alarm.
If this Yale hub connects to a Smart hub plus then any newer Yale hub will also connect.
silly question you have switched it on ? On the back of mine there is a small rubber cover with a slide switch behind it. This has to be switched on.
This switch is something to do with the battery. I think it it’s allows it to run on battery power but until the battery has sufficient charge? It won’t power up or something I can’t quite remember.

Hi Chris. yes it was switched on (the little switch n all that). The engineer from EE who came out on Friday is the one who said that the new Yale Hub and the EE smart hub + are incompatible. when it was plugged into the ethernet port it was as if nothing was plugged in. He was here for about 90min he tried everything that he could think of in the end he want back to his van and brought an older router and it connected and like I said he told me to order another router, which has turned up and is now working.

@Ru55w Very strange. You’ve now got me wanting to purchase one of these newer hubs to test this. If I can find a cheap one on eBay I just might.
if I do go through with this I’ll post back on here with my findings.

@Ru55w In case you didn’t know you can connect this to Philips Hue system so when/if your alarm goes off all the hue lights can go red (or other colour of your choice) Not sure if you can make them flash when you arm the alarm.

Hi,
Have you tried using a different Ethernet cable to connect it to your Smart Hub Plus?

Yes mate. tried new ethernet cable with no joy. was asked if I could test in on a different router so I went next door plugged it into a Virgin media router and it worked.
Thanks Russ

@Ru55w Would you be happy to message me your Hub serial number so we can take this back to the engineering team and look into it further? It would help if you can leave the Yale Hub powered on and connected via Ethernet.
