Can anybody help me? I've recently purchased a Yale Home alarm system, when I came to install it I fell at the first hurdle, (connect the alarm hub to the router via the ethernet cable provided, switch on and wait 30s for the green light), NO GREEN LIGHT. I contacted Yale they said you need DNS ports 5222 and 8765 open on your router, I called EE CS they said its nothing we can help you with, the router is set up for plug n play, I went back to Yale they said, maybe a fault with the alarm hub, take it back to Costco where I purchased it from. After more research I tried EE CS one more time (they were really helpful) and they suggested trying the Yale hub on a friends router, I want next door and plugged the Yale hub into there Virgin router, within 10sec a green light came on. I went back to EE CS, explained all this again and was told maybe it my EE router. So new router posted out to me with great expectations, swapped it over and you've guessed it same as before. I've been back to Yale they asked me to go back to EE and ask for a firmware update for the router, back to EE they told me to switch the router off for 4 hours, I've done that, its now back on with no joy and I'm now no further forward. Please Help. One more thing, these alarm systems are also sold in the EE online shop and don't seem to be compatible with the EE router.

Hi, just checking if anyone is still experiencing issues with their Yale Hub? There were some changes in the most recent update (r2.68.18) that may benefit this.

I bought Yale alarm system last week. plugged in my hub didn't work. EE sent new hub out still didn't work. I have a 3rd party switch that goes back to the router, plugged it in there. Worked first time. definitely the smart hub causing the issue.

@Rich9418 Glad you worked it out!

Can you explain what a third party switch is please? We are having the same problem getting our Yale Home security system and hub to connect to our EE hub.

@Bickleykay The EE Smart hub plus is now alleged to be fixed on the Ethernet interface, so if it is not then the Tp-Link TL-SG105S switch is what you want to get, also remember to order a RJ45 patch cord Cat5e if you do not have a spare lying around. The link below has any additional info depending on how you wish to connect it!

We had exactly the same problem. EE tech support were of no help and maintained that the issue wasn’t anything to do with the smart hub and that we should contact Yale.
Yale tech support told us they always have issues with the EE smart hub but couldn’t give us any practical advice on what to do, aside from going back to EE.
Since finding this thread and using a the TP Link third party switch, the Yale alarm connects to the smart hub without any problem.
Thanks to all for the advice.

@damon9868 And the EE Smarthub+/Pro Ethernet connection delay is in the pipeline and alleged fix is around the corner in case you come across that thread also, but ignore it as after 18months off not working, why should they fix it now!
