Smart Hub Pro - How to change DNS settings?

I am setting up Smart Hub Plus and want to change the DNS server to 1.1.1.1 but I don't know how, I can't find the option to change it anywhere.
Goole returns that the change is done this way:

Home > Advanced > My Network > IPv4 Config & switch DNS Servers Auto to OFF

But with me there is no such option in My Network.

Any help?

@Kieran6670 When you use the new DNS option you end up with three DNS entries on your device.

The first two are what you have set and the third is the hub gateway

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband.

I’m still using the BT home hub 2 but there is no update available. Will call in the local EE store and ask for the EE hub. Thanks for the update.

@Eddiemander Are you currently having a DNS issue with the old BT Smarthub2 you are using!

Many thanks for the reply, yes there is still  no way the change the DNS settings.

@Eddiemander There never was so never will more than likely with a BT Smarthub2.

Thanks buddy, into EE tomorrow morning for me.

@Eddiemander What are you trying to do, EE will just give you the BT equivalent and that will not have DNS also!

I've recently just had the latest smart hub forced upon me because of the digital telephone upgrade. To say I am not happy is a bit of an understatement. I use a raspberrypi which hosts PiVPN (which is working) but also PiHole which acts as my DHCP and recursive DNS server. Unfortunately, I cannot make use of the DNS at the moment because I cannot set the DNS server to what I want it to be. Even though I could set it in the TCP/IP stack, this is not ideal.

This is a really poor decision from EE/BT and as a result I will now be investing in a third party router to setup my home wifi how I want it and the smart hub will literally just become the equivalent of a DSL modem.

If any bigwigs at EE read this (probably not), stop taking functionality away from your customers!

I don't understand the problem, could you elaborate?

You configure Pihole to use an upstream DNS server, and this configuration is entirely independent to your router. What DNS resolver are you using as upstream in Pihole? Why can't you 'set' it?

The ability to configure the hub to use custom DNS servers is present in the latest firmware. If you have only just installed your hub then it may take a day or two for it to be upgraded. However, the custom DNS function on the EE hubs relies on DHCP i.e. the hub issues the custom DNS server to connecting devices as part of the DHCP lease. If you are using the Pihole for DHCP then I assume you have DHCP disabled in the hub (bad if not), so the feature being available to you isn't going to make a jot of difference anyway.

Source: I use Pihole for DHCP/DNS and it works perfectly fine with EE hubs.
