Smart Hub Plus and Netgear Switch Compatibility

I have just had fibre installed and taken delivery of my new Smart Hub Plus device.  My house is cabled with Ethernet throughout back to a patch panel in a comms cupboard.  Between the patch panel and my old router (HUAWEI B535 4G mobile router) is a 16-port Netgear switch (NETGEAR GS116PP) as we have a lot of devices!!  The issue I’m having is that the new Smart Hub Plus doesn’t seem to be compatible with the Netgear switch which is annoying.  I have tested this by bypassing the switch temporarily with a cable directly from the patch panel to the SH+ and it works fine but 4 ports is just not enough for me.

Does anyone know if the SH Pro Wifi7 router would have the same issues?

Any suggestions on a solution or recommendations for a new network switch that will be compatible with the SH+ router would be most welcome.

Hi @Brido7777

An unmanaged switch will work with any router. Try a different port.

I have never encountered any issues with unmanaged switches with any router I have ever used. Tried restarting the switch.

Thanks

@Brido7777 You are aware that the EE Router has a 30sec delay on connecting to the nic port, but once the switch is on it should be fine, so wait if that is the case, and think the netgear will have connection status led's on it, nothing on the smarthub...

If your look at a Tp-Link TL-SG105S stick it between the Netgear and the Smarthub+...
