Spotted this this morning. Looks like an upgraded version of the Smart Hub Plus is on it's way
This version has one 2.5GB Lan port in addition to three 1GB Lan ports

Yes, just saw an article at T3 about it (https://www.t3.com/home-living/smart-home/smart-hub-7-plus-set-to-bring-wifi-7-to-the-masses)
I assume this will go out with any new >= 500Mbps lines, but fingers crossed those of us with existing lines will get an option to upgrade...

@TizzleStick Not good to be one off the first's and line speed has nothing to do with solely wi-fi 7 as a product!

That article got it wrong about using the SH7+ on partial Fibre lines. It's not a "Phone Input" but a Phone port for DV.

@TizzleStick Sadly my experience with both BT and EE is that when the equipment is Like for Like ie a newer version they will not replace what you have if it is working. There is also no guarantee that if you do get them to replace your router they will not send you what you already have 😭
Basically it is a carrot to attract new business

I suspected as much, but I can dream!
Not sure how much of a speed boost Wifi 7 would give me over 6 though, also wondering how much effort putting some ethernet cables to my home office would be...

@TizzleStick Wired is the way to go!

Yeah, just need to either work out how to route a cable from my home office upstairs to the router downstairs or find someone who can do it for me!

@TizzleStick If you have a modern house with plaster boarded stud walls it is not too painful to run network cables in the cavities. If you have coving that is also a good place for cable runs

An electrician should be able to do an install for you
