Smart Hub 7 Plus Port Forwarding Issue

Hi All,

Another Issue with the Hub 7 Plus, probably on others too.

When i create a Port forwarding rule, it always comes up with an error and doesn't save or eventually when it does save, it has created duplicate rules. Try to remove one and it removes both, aaarrrgghh! These EE hub are very frustrating.

I hope someone who can help sees this and my other post, to help fix these issues.

Hi, On the Hub 7 I just get user defined IPv4 device even though I've said show IP address. I've spent so much time with this router so frustrating as it all works on Hub 2 and I get to see the IP address.  something in Hub 7 is different in the firmware causing this issue.  You can see the difference from my previous screen shots.... 1st is Hub 2 and last is Hub 7

Any idea how I can see the screenshot? All I see is two yellow triangle icons

Here's mine, I click show ip and it's there, and the button changes to show device. I'm at a loss now

Hi, Not sure where these definitions come from, but when I do a reset of the router Hub 7 Plus they appear automatically, It’s the router creating them not me...

They are being created by something on your network using UPnP. The tick in the UPnP column tells you as much. As suggested, you can likely make these 'go away' by disabling UPnP and restarting the hub on the off-chance they're interfering with something. Looking at the timestamps in your screenshots, I'm guessing you haven't yet given this a go?

On my hub, if I click 'Show IP address' it shows me the target IP address for each of my rules below. Are you saying this doesn't happen? Or is only happening for the rules you've entered and not the UPnP rules?

Another route might be to look at your device list. I think anything with a port forwarding rule pointing to it will have a little shield icon displayed. That could help you determine what the source of the UPnP entries is.

Hi, I think I'm going to have another try and plug the Hub 7 back in and to a reset again.  Then try and remove those rouge firewall definitions and setup again and see what happens.

Hi, I've reset the router with it just plugged into the mains power.  Once the reset was complete, I connected it to Broadband and logged in.

Looks better now but port forwarding still does not work. I do get the show devices now.  Port 21 is still closed.  Why?  Something wrong with the router’s firmware!

Plus I did not get all the other rules in the firewall setup.  Not sure why its different .  Maybe its because when I did the reset it was just plugged into the mains power and nothing else.

When you say 'nothing else', what devices were connected to the hub other than the machine you were using to configure the port forwarding? Port 21 will not show as open unless there is a device/application actively listening on that port with the 192.168.1.155 IP. If the NAS wasn't plugged in then I wouldn't expect the port to show as open.

If the NAS was plugged in, then was it clearly showing as assigned the .155 address in the network map/device list?

Hi, I did the reset from the back of the router and then connected it to Broadband then I connected it to the main ethernet switch which connects the whole house.  so on that is the TVs, WD Cloud EX2 Ultra x 2, PCs etc. then I did the port 21 forwarding, but does not work.  I cannot get it to work apart from enabling DMZ.  I believe EE has an issue with the router.
