We just moved over to EE Broadband after many trouble free years with Plusnet - because we wanted to keep a landline, which Plusnet apparently will not support in future.
Trouble is, now we're with the EE router, our Sky Stream box loses the Internet connection on a daily basis. It's only the Sky Stream - every other device (mobiles, iPads, home computer, laptop, Eufy security) are fine. We're having to reboot the router every single day, and it's incredibly annoying now. I've tried turning off the 5GHz frequency band, also tried using an ethernet connection to our Sky Stream box, both to no avail. Apparently it's the connection of the router to broadband service that's the problem.
Searching online this appears to come up as a question time and time again, it's clearly a known problem. Are EE doing anything about this? Or are there any recommendations that might work to resolve this? I can't swap to a 'non-EE' router as the landline requires the EE router to be the primary broadband connection.
Many Thanks

@Andrewinganni Have you per chance ever managed to test if the Ethernet Connection to the Puck works better than a wireless wifi one or does the position off the TV/Puck not allow you to do so?

Hi, I started having this problem last week. On Saturday I went into the advanced settings on my EE router and placed the sky stream puck into the DMZ In the firewall section. Since then sky stream has worked flawlessly.

@Campbell20 Would you care to say if the IP is also fixed to the puck and also what the connection is if wired/wireless?

Hi Jim, I didn't fix the IP but in the network settings on the puck it is still showing the same IP as when I put it into the DMZ. I am using wifi.

@Campbell20 Thanks for the info, just gathering as much info as possible on it. Anything untowards shows up post back if possible.

Yes I will keep you updated if anything changes. Before I started looking at changing settings I had spoken to sky and EE. Sky have sent me a new puck and EE have sent a new router, I will see if these work without changing settings

@Campbell20 Perfect way to do it, always the same when something just steps out off line, the Puck at best is not the sharpest tool in the box, same kinds off issues all over the sky Forum also on it.

Yes I've seen quite a few forums with people having similar/same issues with picks.

Hi Jim, I received my new sky stream puck and new ee router and started having the same no connection issues. I have now placed the stream puck into the DMZ again and problem has gone away. I have informed EE of this.

@Campbell20 Hello, just catching up on the latest replies to this issue. From your post, it sounds like you have a workaround that 'fixes' the issue with the Sky Stream Puck connection, is that right? It would be fantastic to get this more reliable! How does one go about placing the sky stream into the DMZ in the firewall section of the EE router, i.e. what are the steps required to do this? Many thanks
