Setting up the hub

Just transferred from BT. Fibre being installed next week. Had email today to set up the hub. But instructions say to connect to EE modem which I don't have.  Is this an example of what I can expect in the future?

@Ed911 Just one off those generic messages sent for you to get on with!

I hope you don't mean that they sent me a message which did not mean what it says!  I am still none the wiser as to wether or not I am going to need a modem.

Anyway, thanks for the thought.

Cheers. Ed

The modem will be the Fibre ONT box they're gonna fix on an inner wall. See the small 1 with green lights in Upgrade from Legacy FTTC to New EE Full Fibre

Thanks for that. One of the drawbacks to getting old is that you still expect people to say what they mean.  If an ont is a modem it would be simpler if they stuck to one designation.

Cheers. Ed

An ONT (Optical Network Terminal) is a special sort of modem that Openreach have for Fibre. See Openreach modem (ONT) explained
