Second broadband line

Hi, i currently live at home with parents. They have sky broadband in the house and the speed is awful. There are no better speeds in the area so i was wondering if there is a way to get a second separate line that goes to my room that i can then get EE broadband for myself without them losing the sky broadband they have. Is this possible in any way?

You may order another separate BB line from any ISP of your choice. Make it clear you are not taking over the existing BB line at your addy.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did get in touch with BT and they said that wasn't something they do and to look for alternatives like a 5g hub from them. But i have tried 5g already and it is not something that has good signal in my area.

@Johnny_JC   Not sure why after asking the question on this EE forum you then call BT and not EE?

Given BT are now focussing on Business customers and EE Residential, that may have been the reason for the BT answer, or it could have been you only wanted the line for a short time.

But before anymore speculation, it would be worth checking on the BTW DSL checker to see what services may, and are not available at your address. If you enter your details, post the result using the desktop site, not the mobile one, including any text to the right and below the table, but do hide your address.

Hi. I contacted BT before asking here as i didn't know if EE offered what i needed instead.  Is this the info you was asking for?Screenshot 2024-10-17 102234.png

@Johnny_JC   yes that is exactly what I was looking for. Nothing there saying you can't order another line, even though as you say it is a little slow at 25Mbps.

As per @XRaySpeX  advice earlier, should be able to order an extra line from the ISP of your choice, although some may not want to supply as they concentrate on full fibre products. Give EE a try or use one of the comparison sites to see who may offer a service for you, and as an idea of pricing.
