Back in September, two EE sales people were going door to door in pur neighbpurhood. To begin with, I quickly listened to their patter to be polite, and whilst I would orherwise be interested in broadband, I was happy using mobile data for now, having found myself between ppsitions post lockdown and recently getting back to work having spent much of my savings.
Since I mentioned money being tight and being on Universal Credit, they left fairly quickly. A few hours later, the male returned (soriginallu it was two, male and female) with a leaflet(or was it a tablet in hand, flashing it in my face but not giving me time to actually read in anybdetail what it said. He claimed that EE (and BT, or via BT?) were offering a cut price offer, the same as what I signed up for, but a mete £10 per month! All I needed to do was wait for the engineer to arrive, so I picked a date a far away as possible, late September (this was August)
When September came. Due to complications, my install date got pushed back to October since my BT master socket was behind a bloody radiator (I discovered after he left that I could just lift it from the wall 🤣) but due to their delay, they credited me with a months grace, since I hadn't been activated when my first bill had been due.
Imagine my surprise when my November bill has come to £27! Not £10 as informed by the salesman. Do I have grounds for misspelling? Or is there something I need to do in order to claim my discounted offer? I cannot find anything on EE or BT website, other than the vague reference as to this actually being such a thing but with no information as to how to get it.
Please help!

I'm so sorry to hear about what has happened here, and I can absolutely understand your confusion, and how concerned you must be feeling.
BT do offer the BT Home Essentials plan, which is ideal for customers who may be claiming benefits. Given you've been put on an EE plan, however, it does not sound like this is what has happened, and I'd recommend reaching out to our team, so they can look into what has happened with your plan.

Not with EE for fixed Home BB but BT does have a social tariff, BT Home Essentials . What is the name of the BB plan you are on including its speed?
