Router's or outlet's fault?

Hi,

I am having a problem with my router since the first day I joined EE. First EE router kept restarting randomly throughout the day so EE sent me another one but the second one behaves the same. The one from Plusnet never did that.

But I also noticed that the ambient lights from the TV light up randomly as well from time to time without the TV turning on which is a sign that the TV powered off and back on. The only device that it doesn't seem to restart is the Homepod which I noticed even if I turn off the power from the outlet for a second and then turn it back on the Homepod

would not restart.

Could it be the router or the wall outlet?

In the meantime I switched the router to another wall outlet and I will wait to see the logs if it will restart randomly again...

Logs when the router restarts:

Surest thing would be to wait and see if the alternative socket outlet clears things up.

so...

I changed the wall outlet and the router restarted less often but still I got two restarts in 4 days.

I've put the router back to his original outlet and now it's restarting 1-2 times per day. Not sure why...Screenshot 2022-07-25 at 20.10.01.png

Is it actually rebooting or just resyncing?

A reboot every 2 days is bearable.

@Pulancur  Are you by any chance using a smart extension lead to power your TV/router or are they plugged directly in the wall socket?

Since I’ve put the router back near the BT outlet is restarting at least 2 times per day. Not bearable at all.
I excluded the outlet router being fault through tests.
I am wondering if the router is overloaded with too many devices ( around 11).

I might request another router. It’s insane.. never had a problem with the PlusNet one.

Which outlets are you talking about? The mains socket or the DSL phone socket?
