Researching EE

Currently with BT with Full Fibre 900 Halo 3+ and looking to switch to EE as contract ending 7th July. Looking at the various plans, Core, Standard, Premium and Ultimate is the router supplied the same for all options? If not, what is the differences? I will also need Wifi Extenders, can these be added to any plan and does this have to be done through EE or can I buy from other sources and add? Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to the Community, @BigGFA

@XRaySpeX has given a great breakdown of each Hub option here, and as mentioned you get the WiFi extenders included with the Premium and Ultimate packages.

The main option missing that's included in BT's Halo 3+ is the mobile WiFi backup - this isn't included as standard in any of our plans, but can be added as an extra for £10 a month.

One final thing to be aware of - you're absolutely able to take a package and use your own mesh system, but if you were taking digital home phone, you must use the EE supplied Hub.

  1. No, router supplied varies; Smart Hub Plus for lower plans or Smart Hub 7 Pro for top plans.  See BROADBAND PLANS
  2. Basic diffs: SH 6 +: 4 x 1 Gig LAN & WiFi6, SH 7 +: 3 x 1  Gig + 1 x 2.5 Gig LAN & WiFi7, SH 7 Pro: 4 x 2.5 Gig LAN & WiFi7; all with 1 x 2.5 WAN.
  3. WiFi Extenders are included in top plans or you may add them to your plan for £7 - 10 pm, see
EE Wifi Extender and WiFi Extender Plus T&Cs, or you may buy your own Mesh system.

I'm not familiar but please remind me what Halo 3+ is?
