Been having the same issues that many others have had with the extender, also random devices no longer connecting and not seeing the wifi networks/ssid. Thought at first it was the extender, having to re-connect using an ethernet cables, but I have begun to suspect the root cause is the router. If the gui can be believed, it switches off the networks for new connections, existing seem to work fine. Every day or two I have to run the ethernet cable and then power off/on the extender, also I have to use the GUI to switch on the wifi networks...
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

That is is not something I'm familiar with, is it a short dial for a EE phone/sim, I'm not a mobile customer?
I've tried to call CS but have been left on hold for many minute
I have the app, but generally prefer to use the PC/web interface for management of the hub

@sweemy Then if you cannot send a text message to EE on the 66033 number with the word HELP you will have to do the phone call to them, either 150 if you have an EE Landline or use the EE CS number from the contact us in the Help, you have to hang on no matter what time it takes to speak to an EE CS agent wither it be 2 minutes or 60 minutes.
The Web manager will show you the state of the FW the Pro hub is at, in advanced / log status area.

66033 is an EE shortcode useable from any mobile network. As is BT's equivalent, 61998. I've used both on the O2 network.
It is only 3 & 4-digit shortcodes that are network specific. 5 & 6-digit shortcodes are networkwide. Just look at Eurovision's dial-in voting codes next year.

So spoke to support and it turns out all my issues were caused by an ethernet connection to a old BT mesh. I have removed the mesh and reconfigured the few devices that were using it, and the EE wifi has been stable since. EE support were very good, and in addition they noticed that my account was entitled to 2 additional extenders so I have also got this additional hardware to boot.

@sweemy - interesting. What BT mesh equipment did you have connected?

This was a set of old mesh devices, the label says "Mini Whole Home Wi-Fi"

@sweemy The old BT Home version off the mesh disk support although supposed to be able to work with ANY ISP hub's has caused serious issues and reported Forum wise and also reported many times before, the only fix ever seen was to get rid and use the EE Extenders that match the EE Hub you are using.
The trend seems to be works a little while then becomes unstable in the operation mode, not sure if you are seeing that way for the fault.

@sweemy - thanks! Really shouldn't cause issues as they're definitely designed to work with any hub, although I think best practice is typically to disable WiFi on the hub and let the Whole Home WiFi look after everything.
How many of the units did you have wired to the EE kit and where? i.e. hub's Ethernet port or the Extender's (or both)?

I had 5 around the house, 1 by the router and cabled via ethernet, they are going into the bin, unless someone local wants them!

@sweemy Bit drastic measure that, you should be able to find a user with a lower specked hub ideally wifi 5 operation that may be able to use them, also if they happen to be on a BT connection and using a BT Smarthub2 good chance they will all work fine and as expected.
