For a long time now my wifi at home has been poor. Quite often it’s ok for the first minute of using social media or online shopping then it won’t work and I have to switch device to 4G. Doesn’t matter the time of day. This is with iPhone 11 and iPad. I’ve tried switching off and on with router and devices, clearing caches, removing and loading apps etc but nothing works and it’s getting really tiresome now.

Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.
Is it the BB as a whole dropping or just the WiFi connections? Do Ethernet connected devices stay working? What colours are the light sequence when it happens?
If you would like help with your BB speed or connection issues, please would you carry out the following steps for starters, which will enable us to diagnose the problem and advise you further. Do not restart your router to do these tests:
1. Post your full router stats:
- For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings > System > DSL Status. Also post 'System Uptime' from top of System Log page.
- For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs.
Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.
2. Try a wired speedtest, using an Ethernet cable supplied with the router, here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html . Click on the "Results Page" button at the bottom of the graph you first see and then copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link that you see below the next main graph.
3. What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.

@Linzi94 when you turn off/on the router are you at least given it 30+ seconds before you turn it back on ?

I think this is the third time I’ve posted this, my wifi is terrible and has been for months possibly a year. I’ve done speed checks and clearing devices and I have no land line hand set. I’m not sure what I’m paying for as I constantly have to use 4G (including posting this) as my wifi is unreliable. I need someone to look at this before I switch provider as I’m throwing money away here.

@Linzi94 , where are you trying to use wifi? Is it near your router or further away, like in another room or upstairs? If that is the case, have you thought of getting repeaters?
Which router do you have?
Are you able to plug something that uses the internet straight into the router to see if that works ok?
What speeds are you supposed to get as that could also depend how good your wifi is?

BT phone number check says
There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line
