Since switching our landline from BT to EE we no longer have an Answerphone. When we dial. 1571 we receive a message saying we don’t have that facility; though there is an option to set it up. We follow the various prompts and it says it will be set up in a few days. But, after a couple of weeks absolutely nothing happens. I have gone through the procedure 2 or 3 times now. There is nothing useful on the EE website.

Thank you very much XRaySpeX that work perfectly. I phoned 0800 079 8586 and very helpful chap performed some sort of magic and within 10 minutes we now have the 1571 answering service. Apparently it should have been done automatically, when we move over from BT to EE

Hi @ClawdePussy welcome to the community and thanks for posting, I'm sorry your 1571 service is not working. Do you have one of the new EE broadband plans with a digital home phone, it's the one where you need to plug the phone into the back of your hub instead of the phone socket?

Hi Neil,
thank you for replying. No we don’t have the new EE broadband plan with a digital home phone. Is that the same as VOIP? We have a standard analogue phone. We moved to EE for broadband and phone over 2 years ago. Perhaps our best solution is to get a handset with a built in answerphone facility

You need to call CS to activate 1571 VM on your line.
