New customer installation of Smart 2 and 7

Just connecting my newly supplied router. EE offered a great offer to switch broadband from Sky. They have sent me a Smart Hub 2 and a Smart Hub 7. Do I really need to connect both to the ONT box? Why send them both. I’ve successfully got the Smart Hub 7 up and running for broadband and digital phone. As ever I can’t get through to a human at EE to ask this question. Anyone here able to help. Are they going to ask for the Smart Hub 2 back. Cheers

Hi @Dazelliott

Welcome to our community.

It isn't usual that you'd be sent 2 routers. Do you remember if your confirmation email listed the router you should be expecting?

@Dazelliott Yes to the answer, if they sent both expect to be asked to return them in at least 24 months time should you jump ship again!

Only One WAN connection ever on the ONT Lan port! Just send the text GUIDE to 66033 and sit back waiting the call back from either one EE/BT Guide.

Lesley, thanks for the welcome👍 just looked back at their email and it does say they will despatch both routers.

Thanks, I shall put it somewhere safe then I’m sure I’ll remember where in 2 years time!!

@Dazelliott If your Pro/Plus as there are two versions now is up and running, causing you zero connection issues device wise, covering all you need then stick with it, the Older BT Smarthub2 version will push the wifi about little further as a WiFi 5 device so anything up to FF900 it can pretty much hold it's own with but does not have all the bells and whistles of the 7 Pro/Plus.

Not sure mine is the “pro”, think it’s just the 7

Thanks for the link, it appears I have the 7 Plus😉
