New customer - immediate price increase?

Hi,

I have just ordered Fibre Max 100 and due to go live at the end of the month. In the 'next steps' email I received, I note the wording on the yearly inflation increase:

The price of your monthly plan, add-ons , and out of bundle rates will increase from 31 st March each year based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) published in January, plus 3.9%.

I assume this applies to me this year, i.e. I am about to enjoy an immediate ~9% increase in my bill one month into my new contract?

Understand most providers increase with inflation yearly, but I was convinced to switch to EE as they discounted their fee almost all of the way towards what I pay elsewhere (after the upcoming inflation increase). I'd rather cancel now if that gap is about to widen.

I asked on the call when ordering and although the guy was really helpful and friendly, the answer was vague, so I'm hoping I might find a definitive answer here.

Thanks in advance!

If you waited to start your contract from after 1st April I believe you would've avoided this increase this year.

You may cancel your contract up to the "go live" date & possibly 14 days after if you ordered by phone or online.

Isn’t this price increase going to already added to new contracts after March ?   While you might think you’ve not been hit with it it’s because it’s already there on the tariff.

Happened to me too - is there anything that can be done, given we selected EE out of multiple providers owning to cost/value?

Yes, @Sarah369 , wait until 1st April.
