New EE7 Hub Problem with Dell Inspiron 17 7000 Not connecting to compatable Wifi

Hello All

Successfully upgraded to the EE Hub 7 for all items in the house apart from one.  My Dell Inspiron I7 7000 cannot see the the Compatible Wifi set up the hub.  Another Dell I7 can can see the compatible wifi and connects successfully.  For the one that is not working I can connect with no issue to my S20 phone hotspot.  I can link to the web using the ethernet cable but this cannot be an option going forward.  Normal Windows 10 tests and updates have been completed.  Switching hubs on and off has been tried.

Any thoughts suggestions welcome

Thanks Trevor

Hello @Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx8

Welcome to the community.

I would recommend speaking with the manufacturer of the device.

If other items connect OK apart from your Dell Inspiron l7 7000 it could be something they can look into further.

Alternatively, our technical support team will also be happy to help with this.

How old is that Dell lappy? I think you'll find the router is set to Wireless Mode = WiFi-7 and Security Type = WPA3 by default. Your device mayn't cope with that. If the lappy is v. old try hanging the router settings down to WiFi-5 and/or WPA2.

We believe we bought the 2 x Dell Laptop in  2015 (Win 8). Now Win 10They have both continued to work so well.

My Dell linked to previous EE / BT router absolutely fine.

I have searched for instructions to do the following you kindly suggested to no avail.  Looked at new EE App and worked through 192.168.1.254 on line.  Cannot find the setting.  WiFi-5 and/or WPA2.

Please share instructions.

Many Thanks

Thanks Katie B

Will try XRaySpecs solution first.  Then will ask system team for magic help.

Confused that one works and mine doesn't

Login to your EE Smart Hub/Router at http://192.168.1.254 with the admin password on the bottom of the slider label on the back of the router. Then on the Advanced Settings > Wireless page you should be able to see those settings.
