I haven't been able to connect my smart plugs to my new EE router since I got it over a month ago. I previously had 7 smart plugs and switches with my old BT hub but the new router has been a nightmare to comnect.
I have tried switching off 5Ghz temporarily but can't connect to any plugs whatsoever. I could get the plugs to connect if I switched off 5Ghz AND set WPA security to 'none' but when I turned the router back to default settings everything stopped working again.
An older post mentioned switching off 5Ghz and turning the firewall off but there's no setting for the latter in the EE hub menu.
Any help would be really appreciated, this has been so much more difficult than with my old BT router.

Without knowing what your password it, I'm suggesting you rule out a typo or a special character that it has an issue with. Trying a simple "12345678" password to try with is a good way to test. Auto complete also may be adding an incorrect value, so it rules that out too.

@Dreamnought - what make/model smart plugs are these? I'd expect all but very archaic devices to support at least WPA2 given it's been a mandated part of Wi-Fi certification for approaching 20 years!
Even devices that only have WPA1 support I'd expect to be able to connect with the 'WPA-WPA2-Personal' option selected (assuming it's doing what it says on the tin).
It wouldn't make much logical sense to me, but I wonder if you'll have any luck dropping the Wireless Mode to 'WiFi 5'? Note that this will limit some of the newer WiFi capabilities for all devices on your network.

Both a simple 8 digit password and setting to Wi-fi 5 did nothing to resolve my issues, regardless of 'slow blink' or 'fast blink' setup and usual "turn off 5GHz before pairing" etc.
The plugs are a mixture of brands and are only a couple of years old at most. As mentioned, I doubt these are the issue as they worked with no issues with my previous BT router (only a couple of months ago) and another Sky-supplied household (a few weeks ago).
Also, if I knock security off the full lot come live on Amazon/Google/Smart Life, which makes me the think this is a router issue and not the plugs.

Is it possible that this is just an isolated fault with my own router and that a replacement could sort the issue? This is starting to become ridiculous.

Hi, @Dreamnought I'm really sorry you're experiencing problems connecting your smart plugs with your new EE Hub. I've highlighted your thread to the Hub team and they've asked if you can confirm the brands of the plugs you are using?

Hi Neil, thanks for escalating this issue.
The brands are TCP Smart, Teckin and Wiz. I also have a smart switch but can't see what that is without cutting the power and taking the facing off.
