Good morning all! Netflix have removed lots of shows from our list and just left the global shows as it thinks we are using a VPN. We are not nor never have... they say that I need to change the settings in my router that show up as though we have a VPN engaged.
Could anyone please explain to me how to change these settings? Thanks in advance!

@Blueberry450 there is nothing in the router that you need to change.
Is this happening on an Apple or similar device that hides your identity or a TV ?
However it may be that your IP address that is the problem. If you type whats my IP into google, or other search engine, it will show something like 95.151.36.123 for example. Take a note of what it is, turn the router off for 30 mins and try again and see if it has changed. If it has try Netflix again.
If you let us know what the problem IP is, we may be able to work out if it has recently changed ownership or its history and why Netflix think you are on a VPN.

My vpn helpline advised me that BT are actively blocking vpn use.
I have been getting an increase in the number of websites I cannot access unless I disconnect my vpn.
What reason would BT have for doing this?

@cluthab I would ask your VPN provider the same question.
It seems to me it is he VPN provider that is stopping you getting to sites.

I did ask vpn provider, they requested info re settings and gave some solutions to try.
Only one site gave a message when logging in that they didn’t accept unknown locations so I’m used to switching off vpn when I go there. The 1st commonly used site that didn’t open until vpn was off is Amazon UK.

Well to mind mind, if you are able to get through via VPN on some sites then it is not EE that is blocking things, but the VPN provider that is using an address that sites are unable to verify the location - a bit like when you are on holiday you can't access sites at home in the same way.
