Moved BT to EE full fibre 150 and digital voice

Took new contract out which included fibre and dig voice pay as you go landline. Order summary sent engineer booked in for yesterday 22nd. Installed fibre but my landline has been disconnected. Called BT/EE claimed payg landlines not put on order so I have asked for them to check transcript etc as I know it is accurate my daughter placed it. Worried to the hilt and now distressed, I am without a landline that my wife who is disabled solely uses (not panic alarm) I have recently suffered a stroke and now been told I can have a landline activated in several days but possibly lose my old number which we have had 40 years with BT. Never experienced such poor service. Any advise/help
