Just upgraded to Full Fibre 500 Essentials Do I really need Hybrid Connect?

As the title asks I have just upgraded to Full Fibre 500 Essentials. I was on the 150 Essential before that I believe and must admit that due to having a nightmare with Sky Broadband, I got the Hybrid Connect for peace of mind. I was not 100% sure if it was the Sky equipment, the Openreach equipment, or what it was really but when I was with Sky and the broadband dropped, it never came back on so I got the Hybrid Connect when I moved to EE. However since being with EE over the last year or so, I think the broadband has dropped maybe 3 time and came back automatically and I didn't have to do anything unlike the Sky equipment. So do I really need Hybrid Connect? Or am I stuck with it now I have just started another contract as I am now on Full Fibre 500 Essentials? I would hope that this is not required? I have also just got WiFi Plus as the house is 1930 brick built and the WIFI was not great upstairs. So hopefully the WIFI Plus will aid that part at least?

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

It's just in case the BB drops for more than a few mins. If you think you're unlikely to need it just put it aside. I dunno if it's on a monthly contract & I duuno if it's on your plan or not but you could call CS & ask to return it & have it & any fee, if any, taken off your plan.

The Full Fibre speed should make any diff as to whether you need it. At any speed if the BB goes down, it's down!

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

Not sure if it is a monthly contract or tied into it for the full 2 years.
I will be passing an EE store over the weekend so will pop in and ask about
the Hybrid then. Don't really want to pay an extra 8 quid for no reason.

@keith47424 Where are you seeing the extra, is it on your bill currently and therefore part off the package you have from EE?

It says Broadband package £7.00

@keith47424 Incase you need it below, may just be an addon to you now as not part off the Essentials package!

EE Smart Hybrid Connect T&Cs – September 2023

That is what I am hoping for, but will see what they say in the EE shop
over the weekend.
Thanks.
