Is EE The Most Expensive Provider?

I'm currently coming to the end of my EE contract at £100pm for 900mb broadband only, no phone or TV packages etc.

This seems to have been way over the odds that others are providing, EE are trying to tempt me with the same deal with wifi 7 again at £99.99pm for 2 years!

Are they having a laugh?

I have Virgin Media offering a 2Gig deal for £51pm

@Tiggercoco  Welcome to the forum.

I expect you have been with BT / EE for many years as you are paying more than double the standard EE rate for your broadband service. 😢

Each time your contract comes up for renewal you should do the following:

1) Check what new customers are being offered to join EE, See what other Broadband deals are on offer with other providers.

2) Negotiate

3) If that does not work ask to leave EE as the retentions team will have better offers up their sleave to keep you.

4) Sometimes your only option is to leave by transferring to another provider. If you do this and join the other provider on a monthly basis, after a month or so you can re-join EE as a new Customer which effectively 'Resets' your broadband service back within the sensible price range.

It amazes me that Offcom allow this to happen to customers . 😠

In Contact price rises should be banned.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband.

@Tiggercoco Then it's time to move on, far lower priced packages even staying on the OR Fibre connection that you have with other ISP's, VM you have to watch double the price come the end also!

My dad is in same situation. His bill is regularly around £48 for basic copper wired BB and landline. When I go in shop they say he's out of contract. If this is the case then why is he still getting BB and phone line?.

@gazmix_1973 Rolling contract start's at the end off the fixed contract period, and normally at FULL price unless you deal with it at the end off the period!

Oh well bye bye EE have just signed up with Virgin Media, same speed for £29pm.

Must admit the service has been solid and reliable from EE but the pricing was naughty.

Also leaving EE 2 months early but taking advantage of Virgins £250 credit scheme!

@Tiggercoco The VM new Fibre installation should go well, just be aware that it is Fibre all the way to the VM 5x Modem for connection so work out were you need that located.... The 10Gb/s Ethernet connection is the only one that supports such high speed's so you have time to get all the gear in place before it get's installed and working, wifi takes a lot off work to get up there so forget much above pushing to that speed!
