Hi there,
Forgive me but I am a total newbie here...
I understand that EE internet (BT) is IPV6????
I have a NAS Drive that I can't access from outside my own wifi network unless I change from IPV6 to IPV4.
I have been told that..... "Your internet provider is using an IPv6 connection on the internet side for your connection, web access on the Linkstation will not work remotely with an IPv6 connection and requires an IPv4 connection only for it to work"
I have a Smart Hub Plus.
Is it easy to do this change or is it something a tech person at ee needs to do?
Any help would be great please.
Thanks

@gritso69 Your EE router by default is an IPV4 assigned from EE to the router, changes every time you power off/reset the router. It does have IPV6 also assigned as secondary method. Is this something new that you are trying to do?

Hi there,
I’m just trying to be able to access my files on my NAS drive from outside my own WiFi network. ie from either my phone or from someone else’s WiFi.
I was told to open port forwarding which i managed to do, but the router wouldn’t save my settings, then i was told by technical help from the NAS manufacturer that my NAS drive will only work if my ISP works on IPV4.
That’s all I’m wanting to do!

If the router wouldn't save your Port Forwarding settings than your NAS can't possibly be accessed remotely. You need to solve that issue 1st before you consider iPvn as the SH+ does work as IPv4.
Show us the Port Forwarding settings that it doesn't like.

@gritso69 What EE router do you have?
This is typical for how to find out, from ideally pc/laptop http://192.168.1.254 and this will get you to the hub manager.
You need the admin password for your router, so have it handy, or create a text file that you can put the password in and then you can cut/paste when needed.
Goto, advanced settings, Broadband, and TCP/IP will show you the information that you require, then you can make decisions about what you want to do.

@JimM11 : OP has SH+.
OP should be looking at Advanced Settings > Firewall > Port Forwarding.

@gritso69 it is worth taking a step back:
Which router do you have? OK got that one, Smart Hub plus
Which Broadband Service do you have, and for how long?
And which NAS are you using?
EE mobile and new EE Landline broadband have both IP4 and IP6 available, but older Landline Broadband still only has IP4.
