So why on average I'm only getting 250Mbps?
What's going on?

@Janrob1 If you have a specific issue then best to post that, EE text HELP to 66033 they can test what is going on with your connection, hopefully that text can be sent, if not then a call to EE CS and have them do it from that end!

Thanks for that . I’ve phoned and spoken to various people who have tried remote intervention. This ended up with a slower speed! Engineer arrived and just told me that he had 600 as I showed him the checker with under 100! Quite rude and offhand with no further offer of help. Phoned again to be told that I can’t expect the 700 as it’s split over all devices! Very frustrating

@Janrob1 : What is the speed to the router? That's all that matters and all that EE is responsible for as discussed above in this thread that you tacked onto.

They tell me that it’s 900 coming in so why am I only getting 250?

@Janrob1 See if the link below will give you some insight to how it all happens!
And for speed related issues good read.

Thanks for that - I’ve read it all. So when they ‘guarantee 700’ what does that guarantee?

@Janrob1 That you need to take up with EE for the answer! If you do happen to have the EE app in a working condition and the speed test from it works then run it and look at the TWO values it returns on the fast test EE is using in there adapted program! @Minkey1 has supplied a sample at the start of the post so you can compare your own result's that you get!

@Janrob1 : They tell you but what do you see it as? Run the speedtest in the EE app & report its results.

It guarantees that only the speed the router will be at least 700 Meg. Nothing else; certainly not the WiFi speed to your devices.

Speed test in the app doesn’t work - call me a cynic but I wonder why…….

@Janrob1 The other method is a capable device that can GET the speeds you need connected on the Ethernet Port of the EE Router, ALL your wifi devices off unless you know that your devices are good and work correctly, speed test over Ethernet and see what it returns to you! I get my whole FF500 feed, do not have to or disconnect any Wireless wi-fi devices whatsoever, but my network is fully functional and operates as it should!
