With Main 2.4 and 5GHz switched off in the dashboard, I noticed on a WiFi analyser app that the SSIDs for the hub had re-appeared.
Only compatible 2.4 was meant to be enabled. The main WiFi was still showing as off in the app but confirmed as back on when logging into the dashboard.
It's not clear what caused the WiFi to switch back on - possibly after a hub restart -I think I might have seen this happen once before in the few days I've had the pleasure of using the EE hub 7+
The router log is no help - listing little info compared with previous PN hub for example.
After switching main WiFi off again (and of course saving) the SSIDs did disappear - but after clicking other screens in the dashboard, the WiFi turned on again. After repeating the switch off and save steps it's so far staying off.
It's pointless reporting this as support lines tend not to understand f/w issues - offering restart or factory reset or to send out a replacement device as options which just waste more time.
This issue is on top of the slow (10secs+) time it takes for devices to connect to Internet from wake (nothing to do with keeping LAN ports alive) and slow LAN device discovery (minutes sometimes).
I've got a PN Hub 2 which worked well for ages but not sure how it will cope with EE IPv6.
What other router options work well?

@jak26 It may just be the way that the hub is, yes you turn the Main WiFi off and you expect the sucker to stay off, so must be some kind off FW issue when you do the switch off/on again. Would try them all off, main and comp see if the on/off works that way, you will need the Ethernet cable to turn it back on again though! Lan connection should have hee haw to do with the wifi, i ran the Vodafone Power Hub 3 weeks WiFi switched off and the Asus routing through the VF hub, then again that went back in it's box as quick as it could because it's a 1 out of 10 unit.

Maybe sometimes EE staff visit here and so might pass this observation on - along with other issues raised.
Otherwise it's handy to remember for anyone else using compatible 2.4 only and main off but then finding it back on.
The Hub 7+ "IPv6 network status is disabled" issue appears identical to the thread from a year ago https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Broadband-Landline/Smart-Hub-Pro-and-IPV6/td-p/1527624 - the hub restart fixed devices IPv6 working so will ignore hub status info.
I'm hoping regular hub reboots aren't going to be necessary - the 7+ seems 'disappointing' to say the least. I'm content to update my AP but want to keep the ISP router in place - it just needs to be as reliable as smarthubs from years ago.

@jak26 The Smart Hub 7 Plus is just so new and therefore not much about it posting's wise, you sure are flexing it to the limit's and that is the reason to treat it carefully with the what/what not happens, by now you will have gathered surprise's will crop up out off the woodwork for you to deal with... Correct it's good to have it all posted just in case someone else comes across.
Got your link, wakened up the old memory bank to that one.👍👍 Fast pace moving FW updates, with no EE hub to look at makes guessing a little bit skew whiff at times.

I've flagged the WiFi turning itself back on thing as I too can replicate the behaviour: -

@jak26 At least one off the duck's now found as confirmed by @bobpullen so bringing this one back up to the start again, missed the reply.

This wasn't fixed in 4.27.1 - but wouldn't have expected it be - so Main WIFI was turned back on due the restart associated with f/w update.
Note there is some delay between changing a WIFI setting and seeing the impact on a WIFI analyser. This may be due to DFS but things aren't very robust - so suggest only make one change at a time and waiting to see SSIDs update - once before when I changed various WIFI settings it caused the Hub to become confused, restarted, but corrupted needing a factory reset.
----
In the 4.27.1 release notes - "New - IPv6 DNS"
Reality - Hub still states "DNS: IPv4 only"
---
After a factory reset "IPv6 network status: Enabled"
After a restart "IPv6 network status: Disabled"
N.B. Actual IPv6 seems to work.
---
Accumulation of GUAs
On a Windows PC each temporary IPv6 address becomes deprecated when replaced by a new one on a lease renew. Deprecated addresses are retained by Windows for 7 days unless the PC is restarted
But the Hub accumulates all temp addresses and does not delete them even if the PC does - only a Hub restart clears accumulated GUAs

@jak26 Similar to the Asus on iPv6 then, i see all the old temp v6 addresses, and did a quick change of a profile to have the wan ip4/6 address updated and changed via the vodafone connection, was also seeing what the BQM would be doing and that also packet dropped due to the wan IP change, each device got informed and PC's that did not get a reboot as yet still have the original iPv6 in the Asus log file, new one also showing and PC has the corrected value.... As i have a few with the netsh single iPv6 Address applied to them they generally get a power off overnight anyway, desktop i have kept that up on power now to see if anything odd but as yet nothing all running well.
Expect to reboot the Asus over the weekend to freshen all up and to see if i can get it to move off the DFS clamp on a 80Mhz wide currently,
Not sure what is happening with the 7 Plus and the 4.27.1 FW version yet, not many flagging issues and a few oddball ones on the 6 Plus since it went up to 4.26.3, stability issues gone as far as one can see.
